Our Association
The Northeast South Poll Cattle Association is a nonprofit organization committed to the advancement of the South Poll breed across Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. This breed originated in the south but has proven to be as efficient and effective in the northeast region. We strive to support and encourage our members through education, community, and the promotion of best practices in building quality genetics.
South Poll Cattle
South Poll cattle are bred to be slick-haired, moderate framed animals with emphasis on high fertility, longevity, and calm disposition. South Polls are bred to excel on a grass based grazing system. This breed promotes a gentle animal that is heat tolerant, has great maternal qualities and has efficient conversion rates on forage alone.
